Should have been Seder vs Maron

But I'll take Maron on the radio any way I can.

Seconded!

Marc Maron is the best host Air America ever had.

Outstanding week

And I can only hope that AAR gets the "AHA" moment when they hand Marc a big old daily show.

More Maron Please

I am so grateful just to have had this week hearing Marc again. He is the best host AAR has ever had. Now I want more - Please, give us more Maron. Afternoons, mornings, weekends, anytime. Marc deserves a permanent spot in the line-up.

Maron and Hillary comments

I like Marc Maron but I don't like how he and the other media elites have decided to annoint Obama as our candidate. Hillary's "fat ass"???? Who are you to make personal attacks on candidates? And why no personal comments about Obama or McCain's physical traits? Why just her?
If you want to fight; fight with facts. Air America is part of the plan to steer this election. They need to get back to their real mission and stop the insults on Hillary.

Go get em MARON!

the Z girl

"I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess."

The "Man's Prayer" from The Red Green Show

Too much

Sorry people, Belzer telling Maron "you sound good" is just a bit too much.
You didn't sound ready for that Marc.

Damn

Sorry I missed Maron being forced to accept a compliment. Working pays the bills, but it certainly comes with disadvantages.

ATHEISTS are this and that

Getting annoyed at the current guest making it sound like all atheists do this and that.. We atheists hotly disagree with each other on many things. I suspect the more controversial atheists are more likely to get the public microphone put in front of them.. At work.. no time for more thoughtful email..

Marc Maron Rules ! :)

Marc,We love ya man !

Keep it going AAR..

Do something Smart,AAR..You know, something Smart,as opposed to something that you normally do..

Bring back Maron And Seder !

PANTSUITS!

BUllSHit

Firstly, I was for a John Edwards / Obama ticket. I thought that Barack could use eight years in the White House as a springboard to his own Presidency, but I chose him over Hillary because Hillary is a pandering fool.

How many times do we have to listen to her accent change depending on the ethnicity or the income of her audience?

Now she is claiming to be favored by dumb white guys? She should be ashamed to call herself a Democrat. I know that I am ashamed of her. If she can't be nice while she tries to raise money to pay back her loans, then get the hell out!

Seriously folks, I am perfectly willing to vote for a woman... all that I ask is that she dress like a CEO instead of a Country Club Hausfrau! Red, Yellow, Pink, bright shades of Green and Blue? I expect to see her holding a covered dish at the podium for christsakes! The only reason she is not the presumptive nominee is the pantsuits... That and the fact that she is the only lightning rod capable of mobilizing demoralized DittoHeads to get out the vote in November.

What a great week this has been

It is such a pleasure to listen to an AAR host actually have a conversation with an interviewee. One of the things that drove me nuts about Randi Rhodes was that she constantly interrupted people, even her guests, and never listened. Marc Maron (and of course Sam Seder) knows how to have a dialogue. The Boettcher interview was mind-blowing. Each question uncovers more information and takes us deeper into the issues. It stimulates thought and discussion after the show ends. It is sad how rarely that happens today in the media. PLEEEEEZE give us more of this. We are starving for authentic, informative interviews. Where will we get it after this week?

and what is the bumper music?

I'm old, so I don't recognize many of the bumpers today. But I like it, so what is it?

My guess is that it was from

My guess is that it was from Marc's I Pod.

Atheists do this and that

Yes I like Marc too..

Below.. show corrections.. and..

I am annoyed at the guest that lumped atheists into one category.. We atheists disagree on a range of issues.. I hope I mishead that atheists want to nuke muslims.. That was plain stupid.. I know for a fact the vast majority of atheists do not hold thias opinion.. I have noted however that the media seems to put the microphone in front of odd ball atheists with controversial views (which dies a disswervice to the community by making people hate all atheuists)..

MARC.. you said the number for you show too quick (so I couldnt get it).

SOME CORRECTIONS:

Someone said : Hitler did not kill Jews with Jesus... it was occult stuff.. Incorrect.. Hitler has always been a Catholic (to quote him). Hitler signed agreements with the Pope (which is why tithing is still going on today in GErmany)..

Einstien was mentioned.. Einstein was an atheist (by most peoples definitions).. You can quote the dictionary and make a case he was not (indeed he said he was not).. But Einstein did not believe in an afterlife, or gods, etc

MARON!!!

Loved Belzer, too. But Marc Maron is my favorite out of anyone who's ever hosted on Air America. Janeane Garofalo and Sam Seder are very nearly tied with Maron .... but Marc Maron is "THE ONE". Thanks for letting him guest host. I hope he'll be a regular again very soon.

Marc Marrin

You should find a time slot for Marc, if you can't use him in the afternoon. His show always gives me new perspectives, while allowing all voices and opinions to heard.
Keep Marrin on Air America!

"You only thinks what your pastor thinks."

A great insight, Maron!

That's one of the few original thoughts about a reason for the Wright hype I've heard in all this!

Thankks!

Your hour with the comedians

Best hour today. Your comments on Rev. Wright are the best I've heard ever -- and this issue has been worked over! As usual, you're amazing!!

Go Marc...

Thank you! Thank you! Marc

and friends for talking about the racism involved in the attacks on Rev. Wright.

It is so wonderful to hear truth being spoken on the radio!!

The Future of AAR Should be Marc Maron & Sam Seder !

Bring Back The Future !

Come on AAR..Do it !

Push The Button !

You Will Feel Much Better !

We Know We Will !

Join Us In Saying,Bring Back Marc & Sam !

The AAR Listeners Have Spoken !

Get Onboard AAR !

You Will Be Glad You Did !

Couldn't have said it better

So I won't even try.

Keep Marrin and Sedar. They are both great.

Sanity on the radio

and sweet reason. Oh please, AAR management. Give us thoughtful, funny hosts who don't grandstand, who can actually carry on a conversation, who are curious and well-informed. You know who I'm talking about: Seder, Maron, more and better Rachel Maddow, ... Thank you.

Such a great week!

Just like old times!

Bring Back Marc Maron!

Another great show, Marc!

Another great show, Marc! Wonderful to hear you this week.

PLEASE, AAR!

It is SUCH a joy to hear Marc Maron on the air again! He is one of the best at interviewing and funny as hell. He deserves a daily show - one that's on while the sun is up. He is better than anyone at AAR (except maybe Sam or Rachel). Forget the unlistenable celebrity radio and hire Marc!

heard it on the sam seder blog re how great marc maron is

Marc is a great interviewer! Always has been, from the start.
Submitted by nora on Fri, 05/09/2008 - 6:03pm.
Has such an ease about it and is so authentic in his form of questioning, that is, his questions come from his own personal interest, is what I mean to say.

I heard Hedges interviewed by Hartmann, too, and Marc's interview was so much better, because Marc just let Hedges do his thing so we could find out where Hedges is coming from. (Hartmann's interview of Hedges got all confused and strange; I couldn't figure out the odd energy.)

But, Maron, interviews like the guest and audience are all just stopping in "TO HANG"! Love that relaxed energy, too. Just like I love Sam's LASER INTERVIEWS that get to the nucleus of any issue.

Both Seder and Maron are VERY special talents!

what a great week

for this time slot
sam and marc were both fantastic
how i wish we would hear more from
them.
Its not asking that much is it?
they're already on board they
need no training
they're excellent broadcastors
they've got their own fan base
they've got devoted listeners
and they are the future of what
liberal radio will be.
Grab 'em quick before they get away!

Best week of 3PM - 6PM slot ever!

Maron and Seder are the best hosts AAR ever had!

I even signed back up for "premium", or whatever they call it now, just in case
Air America makes a good decision. Glad they give a free 2 week trial, just
in case Air America makes a poor choice for this time slot.

Best Shows

This week with Maron and Seder was the best.
Air America, please give them the airtime that they deserve- 5 days a week.

Maron & Seder

Two distinct talents that need to be heard daily on Air America.

We need their voices on AA. Now more than ever!!

It doesn't get any better

AAR, you couldn't do better than to hire Sam and Marc. Look at your lineup! All you really have is Thom Hartmann. Rachel is great but you've started simulcasting Race to the Whitehouse during her show so we don't really have her anymore. You NEED Sam and Marc to keep AAR going! Don't let Bill O'Reilly be right. He's predicted AARs demise for years now. Hiring Sam and Marc would be a great way to start rebuilding.

This week was an oasis in a sea of bad AAR decisions

I don't understand why it is rocket science to the suits at Air America that Sam Seder and Marc Maron are the AAR "brand" at this point. Al Franken is gone. Randi Rhodes is gone. Rachel Maddow's future is in television news. So what else have you got? Jon Elliott and a few vanity shows? Yes, Mark Green, I'm talking to you.

Sam and Marc are, as we've seen this week, ready to go right out of the gate. Sam is smart, well-prepared, and far kinder to his conservative callers than many of them deserve. And he has bled Air America blue for the last four years and deserves better treatment than he's getting.

Marc Maron hasn't been on the air on any kind of regular basis for four years, and this week, in his first time flying completely solo, with no Jim Earl or "buddy Don" next to him -- it's as if he never left. Thursday's opening rant was absolutely brilliant. He challenges the audience to think. Maybe that's just too dangerous for the corporatistas in the executive suite.

Sam and Marc ARE Air America. They always were. Air America isn't about celebrity blather on the air like Roseanne Barr and Joy Behar. The early Air America was something special and rare, and Sam and Marc are the last vestiges of that. No one else on radio does what they do. Why is it so hard for the suits to see this?

How many radio hosts hold onto their audience TWO YEARS AFTER THEIR SHOWS GO OFF THE AIR? You can't buy this sort of loyalty, and you can't get it from hot and cold rotating celebrity hosts.

We want our Seder/Maron, and we want it NOW.

Thank you!

I wanted to add my appreciation to this growing list of "Thank you's" for SamSeder and MarcMaron. What a wonderful thinking humours week!

I had streaming problems all week, starting with Monday and Sam's program and running throu-out the week. I'm a premium member so I was lucky to have the pods available. I've been with AAR since begining and these two have always been brilliant and I've missed them. I've written to the "higher powers" at AAR often enough that I don't need to write more here so I can listen to Sam's last live "Seder on Sunday" program.

PS

SamSeder did an interview with KS' Gov. and did a terrific job!! He found out she doesn't have much concern about the "war" in Iraq .... did you wonder how come it wasn't one of her 3 top concerns like the rest of the Nations (per one poll)?

But, just in case I need to be clear ....

... SamSeder and MarcMaron need to be back on AAR as regulars, like 5 days a week.

Takecare, :) :) :) :)

seditionist radio

Just listening to seditionist radio on marcmaron.com What a jewel AAR had in that show! Brilliant, hillarious~we were so spoiled back then. Please sign Marc, sign Sam~get this radio venture back on track. Thank you.

More Sam & Marc!

We need more Sam & Marc! AAR needs it too, use them justly or lose them!

And as a non-religious person, not sure if it technically makes me atheist but using Christopher Hitchens and the like as things to launch generalizations is nuts, and also it's not like atheists have regular meetings.

This pretty much goes for anyone but when someone is advocating violence, maybe you need to look into why they are advocating for such an extreme position. Whether your killing for the state or "humanity" or your deity it bears some inspection. It's likely to me that the people Hedges is pointing out are not doing it because their atheists but because they are intolerant and have little issue with mass murder, as long as the targets are chosen from their special kind of bigotry.

I understand how it can be difficult to be tolerant of certain people, and they see a real danger in being tolerant of certain people, but I mean going so quickly to violence shouldn't be an easy sell. Unfortunately our recent history has shown that many unfairly maligned groups (also misunderstood) combined with bigotry, also the very small minority of actual criminals who should be prosecuted not invaded.

MLK

Marc,

Really enjoyed your stint on AAR. On 5/9 you mentioned MLK in passing and possible government involvement in his murder. Check out William Pepper for more info on that subject. You'll find it illuminating.

Looking forward to hearing you again in the future.
