Obama seeks help from top Irish-Americans

BARACK Obama has asked former senator George Mitchell and six leading Irish-American politicians to advise him on Irish issues and to help his campaign reach Irish-American voters.
The advisory panel will include senators Edward Kennedy, Chris Dodd and Patrick Leahy, Maryland governor Martin O'Malley and congressmen Richard Neal and Joe Crowley.
"I am delighted to be able to call upon a 'dream team' of leaders who cherish the US-Irish bond as I do," Mr Obama said. "I look forward to putting in place policies that will fortify this indispensable relationship."

Why the hell do we still worry about crap like this? Are we gonna have advisors on how to win the Polish vote, the Swedish vote, the Somali vote, the Korean vote? How about winning the AMERICAN vote??? The whole point of this country is that it doesn't matter where you came from, you're still an American first and foremost. Anyone who votes for someone because you share a country of origin far back in your family history should just do us all a favor and relinquish your voting rights. You're obviously too stupid to make rational decisions about the fate of the country. Don't we have more important things to worry about than whether the candidate is Irish, Catholic, Baptist, Kenyan, or whatever? Is an Irish VP gonna be better at fixing the economy than anyone else? Give me a break people!
