Peggy Noonan on Palin:"Political bullsh*t"

By Tim Einenkel

Listen: Peggy Noonan on Palin:"Political bullsh*t"

Chuck Todd: Mike Murphy, lots of free advice, we'll see if Steve Schmidt and the boys were watching. We'll find out on your blackberry. Tonight voters will get their chance to hear from Sarah Palin and she will get the chance to show voters she's the right woman for the job Up next, one man who's already convinced and he'll us why Gov. Jon Huntsman.

(cut away)

Peggy Noonan: Yeah.

Mike Murphy: You know, because I come out of the blue swing state governor world: Engler, Whitman, Tommy Thompson, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush. I mean, these guys -- this is how you win a Texas race, just run it up. And it's not gonna work. And --

PN: It's over.

MM: Still McCain can give a version of the Lieberman speech to do himself some good.

CT: I also think the Palin pick is insulting to Kay Bailey Hutchinson, too.

PN: Saw Kay this morning.

CT: Yeah, she's never looked comfortable about this --

MM: They're all bummed out.

CT: Yeah, I mean is she really the most qualified woman they could have turned to?

PN: The most qualified? No! I think they went for this -- excuse me-- political bullsh*t about narratives --

CT: Yeah they went to a narrative.

MM: I totally agree.

PN: Every time the Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and it's not what they're good at, they blow it.

MM: You know what's really the worst thing about it? The greatness of McCain is no cynicism, and this is cynical.

CT: This is cynical, and as you called it, gimmicky.

MM: Yeah.

i want to submit this post here: peggy, abuse really?

i understand your point. there was garble. maybe they should have called you. however, if this is how you feel and you are paid for commentary, then why are you not honest and discuss this idea of narrative and the possible downfalls. so, we all knew what we knew--commentatories talk to talk. in doing so, you are the problem with american news and it's affect on american politics. people are paid to talk rather than speak what they believe. your job is to make noise. that is it, no matter your salary.

sadly, it is your fault by not being honest on the air in the first place. had watchers knew your honest assessment, then context wouldn't have been an issue, and you couldn't cry "abuse".

i run into peril. however, had mccain/palin handled the situation properly, then any issues surrounding the family in the news might not have occured. however, palin by announcing her proud family, doesn't mention that they have a bundle of joy on the way, even though she has stated about her own child, "the more the merrier".

more pointedly, i have seen palin's baby in dad's hand twice for several minutes for photo ops. this is the progressive, feminist family where the husband can raise the children.

further, for the whole time the family was in the audience the baby was passed to the father just when sarah palin goes into her little advocacy spiel for children with special needs in her VP role. not only, is the baby handed to the youngest child five minutes later, the child holds the baby for ten minutes until they exit the audience.

when has sarah palin become an advocate for special needs children. after she has one. palin is clearly into the "politics of me". where is her history of advocacy for children with special needs prior to her own need? did she cut funding for young mothers with children? what about their needs?

if, i am correct and sarah palin's politics are the "politics of me", then we have certainly entered a dangerous time. you are correct -- it's over!

as for me i apologize for abusing you by watching and hearing your garble. i hope you aren't hurt too bad. speak up and more clearly next time!

Peggy Noonan

Why don't commentators just say what they really believe once in a while?
That would be so very refreshing for a change.
Sarah Palin is VP, for one reason, to get the votes of the " base " many of whom do not care for Mc Cain's positions ( in the past ) Many, not all, of these people are hypocritics. They talk about life, but do not care about tens of 1000's of innocents who die and are maimed in an unjust war in Iraq.
