This past week on This Is America, with Jon Elliott, Jon had a guest named Cynthia Sommer on his show. Cynthia had a remarkable story to tell. She had been previously incarcerated after being found guilty of murdering her husband, former marine, Sgt. Todd Sommer. She would serve 869 days in jail.

Upon hearing this story on television, attorney Allen Bloom sought to help Cynthia prove her innocence. He publicly stated that he felt the case was mishandled, even appearing on this show to do so. He fought the conviction and eventually won and thus, Cynthia Sommer, widow and mother of four, was sprung from jail.
