In 1988 the country was coming to the end of 8 years of Ronald Reagan, then lo and behold, George H.W. Bush (Reagan's V.P.) won the presidential election. How concerned are you that we could see a repeat of 1988 in this year's election if John McCain is elected?
Clinton for VP? This was suggested by Thom Hartmann today. Does Thom really want to see someone in the VP position --
o who is a religious radical (Hillary has participated in Doug Coe's The Fellowship (aka The Family) for FIFTEEN YEARS and they are fascistic and desire to "rule the world" and isn't that the goal of 21st Century Crusaders?),
o who wants us to believe there was no reason to distrust G.W. Bush's veracity on the lead up to the illegal Iraq Invasion which she voted to empower Bush to pursue,
o who is proud that she appeals to an uneducated racist voting block (who bring to the voting booth recognition of her name and the propensity of being vulnerable to race-baiting!).
o who wants prayer in schools
o who redefines social justice so that it matches so-called conservative 'morality', for example, Prim and Prudish Clinton saw nothing wrong with hamstringing an anti-human-trafficking measure so that the only way it could get funds was through an attached condemnation of prostitution.
Making Hillary the VP is not what will hold the Dem Party together; and making Hillary the presidential nominee won't hold the Dem Party together either! What some people see as reconciliation and togetherness, others may see as pure extortion. I use the mean e word because, if Hillary hadn't prolonged her primary candidacy to the dregs like this, if she hadn't used the race-baiting and gender-whining victimhood ploy, if she hadn't spent herself into a $20 million HOLE, if she hadn't demanded undoing the primary rules for a GRAB at the votes of Florida and Michigan, THERE WOULD BE NO DEM PARTY CRISIS REQUIRING A HEALING AND RECONCILIATION. The Hillary Formulary must read: "Damage it and then make them fix it and then make them GIVE IT TO YOU." This is insanity, on Clinton's part, and on the part of those who want so much for her to unruffle her feathers. (It brings to mind how some families cope with a family member who is chronicly histrionic! Are we going to trade Bush sociopathy for a drama queen??? Heaven Forbid!)

I am in complete agreement. No reason they should be profiting hand over fist while my grandmother is struggling to put gas in her tank. Give them a choice of lowering profits by lowering prices or lowering profits via a windfall tax. Make it a no-win for them. And then take the windfall tax revenues and return it to American taxpayers, use it for renewables, whatever.
Deja vu?

This was choice. George W. Bush to Arab leaders: "It's time to move away from one leader in power and the opposition in jail."
I wonder what Don Siegelman would say?
